Dan

Hi Everybody,

On Wednesday I took my last dose of Klonopin. I have been water titrating since last December. My original dose was 1.125 mg. Initially I started reducing at .002 mg/day, then went to .004 mg/day, and finally to .005mg/day. The taper was very easy with virtually no side effects. I had to hold for a day or two when I started to feel some mild side effects, but that was the extent of any difficulty. Through it all I worked and went about my life with no issues.

Like many of you I got on the benzos through the doctors. When it was time to come off I was basically told to cold turkey. As you can imagine it was hell for four months until I could stabilize.

I was originally on Ativan, but had a series of mess ups with the titration and kept upping my dose. Also I think the short half life was a real problem. Finally in November I crossed over to K.

Anthea and Anne were very kind with words of support and wisdom. I don't know where I would be without this site. In addition, I read all of the success stories from those who got off benzos. Those stories were very encouraging. I am sure glad that the water titration method was discovered, because it was very easy for me.

Best wishes to you all,

Dan
