Yoga

The following are just ideas that some members have found to be especially helpful for dealing with the problems encountered in withdrawal.

"Yoga has helped me immensely, on many fronts: with my breathing difficulties, anxiety, muscle pain, and as a tool of meditation and distraction. I go to class twice a week, when I can, or otherwise use a DVD at home: Yoga for Inflexible People, which is good for beginners like me. The more strenuous and complicated poses can set me off at times, but in general the whole yoga experience has been nothing but positive.

One pose that is especially good for slowing hyperventilation and short-circuiting a panic attack is the child's pose."
