Recovery Time by Age

All data must be read in conjunction with the survey limitations.

The graph below shows the average recovery time (months) by age for those in the recovered group. For the group of people who answered this survey, the average number of months taken to recover seemed to increase with age. Those in the 20 - 29 years old group took, on average 7.4 months to recover, or almost recover, while those in the 60 - 69 years old group took 16.1 months.

While there was an upward trend in the average number of months, there was still a great deal of variation within each group. Some people in the 60 -69 years old group were recovered as soon as they were off their benzos, while some in the 20 -29 years old group took 20 month to recover after stopping their benzos. This is shown in the table below.
