These are descriptions of how individuals experienced various symptoms during withdrawal. While everyone's withdrawal is unique and symptoms will be different for everyone, it may be useful to know what others went through. All withdrawal symptoms can be caused by things in addition to withdrawal. If a symptom is persistent or you are worried by it, it is always a good idea to get it checked out by your doctor to ensure nothing else is going on. ______________________________________________________________________
Definition: (n) Physical or mental weariness resulting from exertion. ______________________________________________________________________ What I've Felt: "You might feel like you've competed in the Ironman 100 after a short walk around the block. You wake up in the morning exhausted. This feeling of utter weariness stays with you all day, cloaking you in immobility. "I've felt like I've always been tired, always am tired, and will always be tired. For me, this has been the one symptom that is nearly constant. It precludes strenuous exercise, and on some days is so extreme that I can't hold a simple tool like a hammer or pencil, and find myself needing to lie down and rest after walking as little as 100 feet." - Matt ______________________________________________________________________ What I've Felt: "I struggled with feeling tired through much of my taper. Some days I would only be out of bed for 8 hours." - Anthea “It came as a shock when cutting my dose resulted in my feeling more fatigued that I was on the larger doses but that is what happened.” - Anthea ______________________________________________________________________ What I've Felt: "I was so fatigued that I could not get out of bed for more than a few minutes. I brushed my teeth and took a shower (sitting on a plastic chair) only a couple of times a week. I rarely put on makeup and could hardly walk my dog 10 yards without sitting down on the ground. I did not clean, cook, or do much of anything but lie in bed. I knew I was getting better when I could sit up all day on the couch. Improvement in my fatigue happen slowly and kept on improving ." - Carter ______________________________________________________________________ What I've Felt "Fatigue - not as severe as last month. I have been trying to exercise everyday." - Sandy's six month update _____________________________________________________________________
