Fear

These are descriptions of how individuals experienced various symptoms during withdrawal. While everyone's withdrawal is unique and symptoms will be different for everyone, it may be useful to know what others went through.

All withdrawal symptoms can be caused by things in addition to withdrawal. If a symptom is persistent or you are worried by it, it is always a good idea to get it checked out by your doctor to ensure nothing else is going on.

What I've Felt:

"Every fear or phobia I ever felt -- rational, irrational, or otherwise -- returned with an immediacy and a vengeance well outside the parameters of the tolerable. I begin to fear the fear (anxiety), and fear the fear of fear, and fear the fear of fear of fear, and so on. The cycle is easily fed, but quite difficult to break. I become afraid of everything: being with people, being alone; sleeping, insomnia; eating, self-starvation. " - Matt

What I've Felt:

"Fear – Fear of being alone, losing control, never recovering, having some undiagnosed disease – this one was worse in the beginning, but these feelings creep back in on me often." Alli
