These are descriptions of how individuals experienced various symptoms during withdrawal. While everyone's withdrawal is unique and symptoms will be different for everyone, it may be useful to know what others went through. All withdrawal symptoms can be caused by things in addition to withdrawal. If a symptom is persistent or you are worried by it, it is always a good idea to get it checked out by your doctor to ensure nothing else is going on. ______________________________________________________________________ Definition: (n) The act of swinging back and forth or to and fro. ______________________________________________________________________ What I've Felt: "You feel like your body is made out of tissue paper and is being pushed about by a gentle breeze. You feel like a pair of invisible hands has grasped your shoulders and is subtly rocking you back and forth over your hips or pelvis. You feel like you're on a boat -- a large ship, say, a ferryboat -- being slapped about by the waves." - Matt "If I'm awake, I'm swaying." - Matt ______________________________________________________________________ What I've Felt: "I suffer from this movement 24/7 as well. My head feels awful because of it and it really messes with my balance. I feel my body moving and whatever I am sitting on or laying on feels like that is moving as well. At night things look crazy because they are moving and fuzzy. I have found these symptoms to get worse as I have tapered down, although I didn't have them when I was c/t, go figure! I wonder if this movement is due to our own gaba starting to work on it's own but not working correctly. It makes me nervous because not many people out there seem to have the movement 24/7. I have it all day and all night. I just want some relief. " - Jennifer ______________________________________________________________________ What I've Felt: "My head hurts so bad and my balance is way off because of all the movement that I have. Its 24/ 7 and it just wont let up. I think that if some of this movement and the head crap would lessen a little bit I would be able to handle the 1000 other symptoms I have. The other day I was washing my face over the sink and thought I was going to fall over. I got stuck on the second step of a whole 3 stairs the other night in my own house!! It was kind of dark and my vision is so bad from all this that I was reaching out blindly to find the doorway entrance. I hold on to the walls of the shower when I wash my hair, also. Its crazy. I'm totally handicapped it feels like. A lot of people write about the movement problem but its almost never at the top of their list. Its the worst with me!!
