All data must be read in conjunction with the survey limitations. As at 31 December 2009 eighty-six percent (86%) of the survey respondents were taking one benzodiazepine at the time they decided to withdraw, fourteen percent (14%) were taking more than one. This is the same as at 21 June 2007. In 2007 the maximum number of benzodiazepine taken by any one person was three. In this survey there were cases where people were taking four, five and six benzodiazepines at the time they decided to withdraw. The table below is an analysis of the various benzodiazepine combinations being taken as at 31 December 2009.
