These are descriptions of how individuals experienced various symptoms during withdrawal. While everyone's withdrawal is unique and symptoms will be different for everyone, it may be useful to know what others went through. All withdrawal symptoms can be caused by things in addition to withdrawal. If a symptom is persistent or you are worried by it, it is always a good idea to get it checked out by your doctor to ensure nothing else is going on. ______________________________________________________________________ Definition: (n) A shaking or vibrating motion. ______________________________________________________________________ What I've Felt: "You feel like you are the epi-center of a small earthquake. The primary tremor is the internal tremor in your abdomen and torso, a feeling that your stomach is thrumming, illuminated, with electricity and translating that energy from your core out into your head, neck, and extremities. You might have a pronounced tremor in your hands that vibrates along the wrist. You may feel much waves swaying your upper body back and forth." - Matt ______________________________________________________________________ What I've Felt: “I shake both internally and externally. The internal shaking is weird because if you are leaning against something, like a wall, it feels like the wall is shaking. The first time this happened I thought we were having a small earthquake. Too much shaking either internally of externally leaves me feeling very fatigued.” - Anthea ______________________________________________________________________ What I've Felt "Inner vibrations-tremors-teeth chattering - has calmed down somewhat" - Sandy's six month update _____________________________________________________________________ What I've Felt "I get whole body shaking violently, not inner, but the whole body, arms, legs, whole trunk, especially in the morning after getting up. It goes on and on, waving and going backwards and forwards and jerking, and then legs and arms shaking very quickly, out of control. I try to walk around (with help) if I can and breathe easily and try to stop the panic the results from this as it is very distressing." - A Benzo Sufferer _____________________________________________________________________ What I've Felt "You know what your car feels like when you are at a red light and the engine is idling? Or the soft slow vibration when your furnace first comes up before the air starts to blow? That's what the inner vibrations or inner unrest feels like to me." - A Benzo Sufferer _____________________________________________________________________
